Where can I get on a motorcycle mechanics course?

This is bloody annoying. Everyone I asked seemed to think that these were in abundance, especially at TAFE. They do run a course, (very good one, by the look of the curriculuum),but only for apprenticeships.

Spoke to the course tutor, but he doesn't know the minimum amount of hours to qualify as an apprentice, (duh). I'm fed up of being ripped off, and the jobs not being done properly, and really want to commit to some good old learning.
