Hey the yanks dont follow our culture,they just think we are quaint,and have a strange language and customs.Why is it we see a lot of teenagers running around now with baseball caps on backwards and baggy pants?Is that Australian tradition...........I DONT THINK SO.

I'm tempted to leave Africa out of this discussion simply because they have been murdering each other for 100s of years. This isn't about Australia or Muslims, it's about respect for the Nation you live in.

Whether you choose to come to a country or are forced because you're a refugee, RESPECT the bloody culture of the Nation that is housing you, and allows you to share it's various forms of wealth and living standards.

The bastards bombing London on the back of British citizenship are scum, and should be shot. If I choose to live in France, I'd make it my absolute priority to learn French, even though they all speak English.

Hey this was my whole point.Why do we need to be on anyones side?Cant be be on Australias side?

You forgot the Confucian Chinese and those Muslim Afghans...
We've even named a train after those Muslims, they've been here so long and had such an impact.
And Chinatown isn't there because we decided to eat out in the 1980s

Afghans as hero's Kev ? Unquestionably a lot were but I was reading an Australian History book once & in it was a story about how after WW1 broke out, some of these peaceful harmless camel handler/ porter blokes armed themselves & attacked a train up near Broken Hill, killing 4 or 5 Aussies. Why ? well, they suddenly decided that their loyalties lay with the other side.

Isolated incident ? seems that way, but I wouldn't have liked the job of trying to explain to the relatives of the victims how
their family members were gunned down in their own dinkie die sun bronzed country by people who had shown (outwardly) no animosity towards us..

The attackers were eventually tracked down & died in a gun battle with police & civilians. Just another snippet from the pages of history ! Who built this country ? The vast majority
were Irish, Scots, Ulstermen & the English. The Chinese were here early during the 1850's gold rushes & the rest arrived much later after the hard slog was over !!!

I don't think the Chinese, etc had it easy, especially when you think of the added pressures of not speaking the language, different culture to get used to and probably the racism they had to put up with. By that account it would've been the earlier mob that had it easier.
