Ha Ha, My first licensed Road bike was a Honda CB250T as well.
Had a black paint job.Thought I was the ducks nuts then.
I Traded my unlicenced '75 rd250 for $200 bucks and handed over another $800.

Next step was the Katana and then got into big bore Road Trails for a while then went back to the Kwaka z1's and have ended up with the busa and whole lot of bikes and stories inbetween that are put away in the shed for future glory days when I recount the stories to the kids.
The older I get the faster and better I was.

Back in the day's when you had a separate car licence and bike licence. Got booked on my car P's, went to the DMR got my bike L's a few day's after I got booked, lost my car P's for three months, my Dad bought and ER185 brand new for $981 dollars, I rode it around for about 12 months after I got my car P's back and waited until they were my Black licence before driving around again.

Struth! An Avenger! Seeing that brought back a painful memory when I peeled back a finger nail trying to fit one of those bloody rubber kneepads to the fuel tank!

Ryderz, yeah mate, it was comical. Strange how bikes can bring out the inner gymnast in a bloke.

DJPete, how's this for a ZIR? Another methanol powered Kwakka beach racer. If you look closely you can see the dellorto carbs fitted to it. If I'd left my head in the shot you'd see the angst in my eyes caused by having to jet those dellortos!

I rounded up a photo of the very first bike I owned. My elder sister bought it to ride to and from the loal teachers college. She updated to a Honda 90 and left the bike to me for the princely sum of $16.00.

This shot is my cousin Ronald, test riding the old Raleigh around the front lawn at Mum's place in Canberra. Ronny is still on bikes 40 years later too.

It's a 49 and 1/4 cc Raleigh moped. Key on and start peddling. It got to around 25mph flat out which was close to the speed limit. Many stories surround that old bird. ACT Police knew the bike at a distance for a short while! lol

very nice Camel. Z1 in the dirt haha. But it looks like it would have been the serious business.
And why did they ever drop kick starters. Would be nice to have as backup when the batteries dead

I see the Z1000ST above. I had a '79 ST, it was one of the first bikes to remove the kick-starter and moved it under the seat. In the years I had the bike I never once used the kicker. Awesome touring bike though. Loved it.
Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!
