it will be getting dyno'd sometime in the future but ohwell. im pretty sure my headers are slightly larger than the yosh systems so maybe it needs more fuel up top but by the looks of it ill benefit from a good dyno tune more than i thought

Just remember too that dyno hp is often best around 13.7 and all very nice when you get your big number on the printout however road air fuel that accelerates the best is often quite richer.A dyno map will often feel crisp but quite peaky and nose dive once past peak power, where a track map shows a much flatter torque curve that still holds peak power for longer, from my experience with comparing airfuel to veypor g force graphs it becomes quite obvious. There is no magic number for all bikes or all rpms for that matter, its whatever works best for your bike is the best number for you.

All bikes should be tuned to what they like best on the road.

Hi Ohdear firstly Welcome

Gen1 & Gen2 run different compression, it appears the Gen2 with higher compression likes to run leaner, at the moment I have mine set up at 13.5ish to 14 under 100% for the road & bringing it down to try 13 for the strip, itâ€s all test & tune & trial & error at this stage

How drastic do you think the changes to my map would need to be if I added a K&N or DNA air filter?

I'm not convinced they make any bit difference at this stage,
stick one in Iâ€m sure it will be ok, at the worst it may run a little leaner
It will make the bike a little noisier, well it did on mine so it must breathe a little better
My DNA has a bigger surface area & you can clean them so there is no need to replace them for years if at all.

Because your brock map is a track map.Brock does have supplied road or track maps because he knows theres a difference.Do you think he tuned his 200mph busa solely on the dyno? There was an innovate dl32,lc1,xd16 setup with a hub for the power commander setup on that bike with dave O assisting with the tuning.99% of people are going to be happy with a good dyno map its just the racers who will search for the last 5%-10%.

i tried the street map and prefer the way the track map rides. feels better to me anyway, i think mines a bit to rich down low but that does really bother me much

Pete from Petes Pit stop would know all about this.A few members here(hd dude, dave, matt, mecanixs) went up to his place and got a couple 08's and gen1's tuned and the numbers he came up with are awesome.Queenslanders should give this guy a call if tuning/dyno is what you are after.Top bloke.

Fellars I see a few people have put on different websites for people to try when buying a Power Commander. Well here is another site that one of the guys over here has just brought one through for his turbo ZX10.

www.fuelmotousa.com

I thought I would get a price for a PC111 for my 08 and have been quoted $259.00 + $ 44.00 USPS Shipping. This also included the mapping for the exhaust system and any other product support needed. If other maps are required they will give you the website to go through directly that you can down load yourself.

Just some more info on this subject, but I thought that the price was pretty good.

The above question is the most relevant. Someone may be dropping their K8 off to Wayne at Tuneboy on Tuesday. This bike will be his electrical test mule. Wayne thinks that he can crack the K8 within a month. The main problem will be the ignition key.

The K8 ECU has much greater data logging capacity Tuneboy will enable full tuning including ignition timing adjustments.

Why spend cash on a PC now when in a month or so (that is the time frame I have set) you will able to have FULL tuning adjustment on the STOCK ECU.

Any word on the Tuneboy softwear???? Been putting off doing any mods waiting for this to be released. I like the sound of "edit" softwear much better than a signal bender or piggback set up.

Not sure whats happening with tune boy on the K8, Sparman was getting his modded Gen1 done by tune boy but something went wrong & I don't think its happening now, PM him he will give you the heads up
