Read the attachments. Effects everyone. Even cage drivers!
Next time you buy your CTP, ask for a proper product disclosure statement. You won't get one. Make sure you've got some private income protection insurance. Does that duty of care stuff still stick when the purposely & deceptively defraud the the NSW Motoring public.
Have a nice day.
Just lucky I'm not 25 years old n stuck in a wheelchair cause of the drunken bitch. but then again, I would haved topped myself by now if that was the case. Fair Dinkum

My cousin broke his back at age 13 falling off the roof of a house and has been in a wheelchair eversince. He now runs his own vineyard, scuba dives, waterskis and is married with a son. He leads a relatively normal life and is happy.
I have been on rides with guys who are wheelchair bound and they ride trikes and converted sidecars. I have skydived with 2 guys who have only had 2 legs between them and one of them has skydived on to the North Pole.
If you think people in wheelchairs dont have a life worth living then think again. Life is full of risks and dissapointments.
Yes I am able bodied and grateful for it. No I was never a drunk driver. No I wont be reading anymore of your posts.

Hi there,
Lets settle down here. There is clearly a differing opinion based upon personal experiences, lets just respect each others position and leave it there.
From what I read of the section that you excerpted the courts will cap your income at $2500 per week, and will disregard any amount greater than $2500 per week.
I would love to earn $2500 per week

It is currently indexed to a person earning a net of $3,854 net per week for a maximum of 15years that the courts will then attempt to discount about 30% off. So you work it out, your 25 years old, you end up in wheelchair until you are 90years of age cause of a drunk driver. How much of the money do you think you'll still have when you get to 90 ? Nickels N Dimes ?! It is just a pity you had a job earning nickels & dimes when you had your stack cause it won't be based on a max of $3854 net per week, it will be based on what you were earning, probabley $400 net per week. So what, 20K a year x 15 yrs = $300,000, thats your lot. Their max is about 1/15th of my loss and that allows for no future pay increases or inflation. If you'd love to earn $2,500 per week, work your arse off and get into the right line of work. I didn't do that to have it all taken away by some drunken bitch who decided to go and get shitfaced and go for a drive.
The drunken cow got a $400fine & $70 court costs & an 18mth suspended sentence & the bitch can catch a bus for 3 years. Justice ?

ahh well shit happens eh
Egos; everyone got one
I feel your pain buddy and think you have every right to be angry and pissed off.
Every time I go for a ride, I hope I wont be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It sucks how someone can go very close to killing you (while drunk no less) and then walk away with what amounts to a slap on the wrist.

Everyone thinks they're worse off than the next poor bastard...
My wife lost her youngest daughter to some dickhead in a van who was talking on his mobile.
He lost control of his van and hit the car my wife and her 2 daughters were in.
Kerry-Anne was on life support for 33 hours before the doctors - not her mother - turned the machine off.
She couldn't even hold her or say goodbye.
Kerry-Anne was 7 and she died 4 days before Christmas on her way to have a photo on Santas lap.
3 years of court battles, suppoenas and trial by Judge and Jury later, my wife was a shaking shadow of her former self.
He was convicted of "Momentary Inattention Occasioning Death"
The bastard got a 3 month suspended licence and 300 hours community service. No prison sentence.
While he had to pay court costs, my wife still had to pay her lawyers for the efforts.
That's the justice, if you want to talk money...
Because Kerry-Anne's value or contribution to society couldn't be calculated as she was 7, her mother received no money or compensation for losing her daughter. Not from insurance, the government or the murderer.
Her older daughter (10 at the time) had some serious but non life-threatening injury and only received a pitance.
How do you like them apples?

Just letting all those NSW Drivers know that the CTP Insurance is a Bob Carr communist NSW labor govt rip off.
I've been told if it happened in Qld I could have gone em for the full wack. Very sorry to hear about the loss of Kerry-Anne.
If I was dead like I almost was the ins. company would have only been up for funeral expenses. Maybe that is why the NSW Roads & Traffic Authority has erected all those safety fences on NSW Expressways made out of 1/2" taught wire. Guaranteed to de-capitate motorcyclists and save cage drivers only.

I guy in the war had his leg blown off, then he found out his mate had both legs blown off the same day.
Do you think that made the first guy feel better.
Mate I feel your pain it hard not to be bitter.
The Witness
Now look what the Communist NSW Labor Govt (Bob Carr's mates) have done with our non-renewable resources. Sold us all out to the communist chinese for a $200 million kickback. Don't worry, Turnbull's already got it. when your domestic power bill goes up to $1000 a month you know who to blame. They couldn't run a piss up in a brewrey, so they've sold us all down the river to the communist gooks!

HI,
An old item and I haven't had an accident or a claim but still feel cheesed off as I have just registered a bike and a car, so draw the comparison for NSW Greenslip and Rego.
Premium GST MCIS Total Registration
Car $188.15 $18.81 $82.04 $289.00 $218.00 $507.00
Bike $314.70 $31.44 $165.84 $512.00 $101 .00 $613.00
MCIS is supposed to be for medical care and injury service for which I thought the premium was intended for but seems to be just a donation to insurance companies, and bikes are slugged with more GST.
When I asked Insurance Co.why this was they told me bikes are high risk, but this is not personal insurance.(you big bad, dangerous bikers)
Took matter to my local Member (twice)but he is in opposition so almost useless, but, did write a letter to transport minister who replied levies are calculated by insurance co. Passed the buck.
Wonder can any body find out how much of monies ripped off is actually expended.
Like I said ,pissed off as I register 2 bikes and 1 car.
