I just scored a GI PRO w/ATRE off fleabay for $150
![]() If you don't want to use the TRE it can be disabled by a press of a button and if you later decide you want to use it then you just have to press the button again to reactivate it. I believe setting 5 is for the ATRE (Advanced TRE). ![]() ![]()

Gear indicator only ............ Acumen / Geartronics / Biketronix are a few that are ideal if gear indicator only is required. With ECU flashing available TRE control is better done thru the ECU (Also less cost) rather than rely on bolt on goodies.

Smith busa does a combination Gear position indicator, launch light and shift light all in the one neat unit.

I have the GI pro - and to be honest -- not overly happy with it --- sometimes it reads correct gear -- other times i can be in neutral and it will go to 4 - 5th gear -- then 0
been like this since day 1 - messaged guy os - he tells me to change position wiring - no change -- reporgram -- no change ... this has been my experiece ...

Smith busa looks like the go so far for 75 bucks. I dont need a tre as im getting the ecu reflashed. Thats the main reason i wasnt interested in the gi pro.
be aware re smith busas, check if clutch basket needs removing for modified GPS (gear positioning sensor) if so and I know smithy makes great stuff but I wouldnt go down that road just for a gear indicator. start playing around with your basket at your own peril for any novice. any plug and play is the way to go imho.
