Is anyone using Tuneboy if so what do you think of it. Have you had any problems and if so was the product well supported. Finally where did you buy it from and how much.

Thanks for your help. Bruce

Bruce , you never explained why you took the Power Commander off your bike.

One of those stupid mistakes you make. I had the bike tuned by a guy that hates powercommanders. He convinced me (correctly) that he could tune my stock bike fitted with pipe and airbox mod without the powercommander.

He took the PC off and I sold it. The bike ran great without it but I didnt look ahead to now when I want to do mods and need the PC.

Oh well I'm used to making dumb mistakes. Bruce

There are a couple of reasons Col said what he said.... for most mods like what 95% of people do ie pipe and air box the std ECU can easily cope. Once you play with cams, head, valaves, pistons, injectors and fuel pressure things get a little trickier.

The other reason is that he runs a Dyno Dynamics dyno and they cannot run Dyno Jet software ( PC ) so for him its a PITA kinda. to be looking at 2 screens and inputting A/F corrections across onto the PC screen...can be done .
He uses a Yoshi Box to tune..... they are basic but get results like the Tecka..

If you are familar with DJ Tuning link software you will not go back when time on a dyno means money even when ya doing it yourself.
See how ya go with the TuneBoy. I'm not what level is going to be released, I know it is far more capable in the sense of options as std than a simple PC3 or PCUSB.

Dont get me wrong Gazza Col gave me the right advice at the time as I told him the bike would remain standard. My need to change things has since taken over. Bruce

Now when time and money is not the issue then use an "Eddie Current" type dyno ! For when fuel mapping and fault finding is concerned an "Eddie Current" Dyno will pick up things (power gliches) that the old cement roller type "Inertia" dyno just doesn't even see as the inertia in the roller masks and just rolls on by. Now if one could get an "Eddie Current Dyno" with tuning link software then that would be nice.................. very nice indeed.
But then as for PC's if you don't need one then don't fit one, as have found in general application they give more trouble than the benefits that are gained. There are many shops around that are telling people that they must fit them to their bikes (Suzuki) so they can be tuned ........totally untrue.
Unless your mods are going to take you outside the fueling parameters of the stock ECU, then any "Tuner" equipped with a Yosh / Teka Box and exhaust emission measuring device can map your bike correctly.

Pete, as you know there are pro s and cons for both.

They're not to hard to build ya self and thats where I'll go .

Tuning Link is mostly a workable solution although it falls over too. However it roughs out a good map a reference then its back to manual input with the "glitches".

No still interested in 1397 or 1360 this is the first stage of mods. Hence the need for the tuneboy or similar.
