You're right Kev, both previous dealings with them the service was A1 - got my stuff cheap, at my door within a week.
This time I get an email (effectively) "seeing as you're a 1st time customer, you'll need to jump thru some hoops" I reply with "not first time, but third time, wasn't questioned first 2 times" She got back with "don't care, jump thru hoops" I encountered with "this is not the way to treat a repeat customer" Her reply was "tuff, jump thru hoops" This was enough for me to cancel the order and vow not to go back, and take my mates' orders with me.
The 1 encounter with bad service, far outweighs the good service previously.

I frequent several forums and all praise them, you must be the first of hundreds to complain.
EXACTLY what hoops were you asked to jump thru?
Spell it out so we can all see how truely pathetic they are.

I went through a similar experience a while back with a different company. I had recieved great service in the past but on one particular order
was treated like crap and got screwed around, so I vowed never to buy from them again. The day came when they had something else I wanted so
I figured I'd give them another chance and guess what......I got great service (from the same person who'd pissed me off).
What I took from that experience was, that at the end of my keyboard somewhere on the other side of the world looking at my order was just another
human like me possibly having a one off seriously f****d up day and I just happend to be in the firing line at the time. We've all been there before!!!
Lifes all about jumping through hoops and over hurdles, so don't stress Pete and give them another go.

+1
Ive been using Rocky mountain ATV for a while now and not one problem apart from the fact that im still perplexed how cheap tyres are from them deleverd to your door.
In regards to bad service has anyone try to deal with a local supplier who has a bad case of tall poppy syndrome?????
I did this week and to say i wanted to melt his eyelids with a solderer as punishment.....that would be an understatement.
Bad PR does wonders to shoddy operators, suppliers and most importantly mechanics who take the piss and think that they can get away with it cause they never take responsibility for the damage they do.........but because we are all "human"the case could be that one employee is having a bad day or just wants to leave the joint and create as much damage to the business as he/she can leaving you with a bad impression unlike previous occasions.

Agree with what was said before here with the exception of tolerating service person that has a bad day, and takes it out on the customers. No customer should be subjected to it and no business can afford that. If you feel you are getting a bad service, ask to speak with the manager. If you still feel like getting shit treatment, then you can be sure that your decision going elswehere is justified. Takes away the "someone is just having bad day thing". After all I think it is a service more often than the price is bringing the customers back.

What you are saying is all well and good in a perfect world but its not the case, anyone tried to get some service from a bank, telco company or dept of transport lately....37 minutes to rectify their own mistake and not even an apology....& by the way the manager was on another call when asked for his presence.I can live with bad service from an overseas supplier if the price is right as i can stop using him at the drop of a dime but if you are charged 100% mark up by the local supplier and bad service is the norm like up here in queensland than I know where i will still be shopping and gladly send my money overseas.

Sounds like they may have been stung by some scam artist and are getting more wary.

I have just been informed by Rocky Mountain that they are no longer permitted to export Michelin products (this restriction was put in place by Michelin)...am waiting to hear if this restriction applies to any other brands....will let you guys know what I find out....looks like I may be giving the Conti Road Attack 2's a run next.
Just to add to this....have been informed that the export restriction (from the US) applies to Michelin, Pirelli & Kenda....

Could it be that they having to discount like buggery in the depressed US market and don't want those benefits going to their other markets?
