Getting excited now, 8 days till we leave, setup the tent to have a look an refresh myself on setup, 10 years in the bag and it stored well.
Bought myself 2 x MSR fuel bottles, small but just the right thing for the trip. Hoping like hell my iphone holder and ear pads arrive before I go.
Still have a lot to prep over the next week, but starting to get everything together.

As I type, my busa's in about 187 separate pieces.....got the tail-piece & under-tail at a mates place doing a quick paint job for me, bike goes in to the mechanics shop on Wednesday morning for full major service and tune-up, currently in the middle of swapping out full fairing (and an assortment of other things) off my other busa.....and CeeJay will be happy to know that today I've even actually put some of the bling and other stuff on that I've bought over the last 3.5 years!!!
Oh faarrrrkkkkk.....makes me wonder if she'll be all good to go for an early departure for the BB this Sunday morning!?! lol

Well my bloody tyre didn't arrive today. If I don't get it by Friday I'm riding the Victory

Firstly Happy B'Day Pete :)
Secondly, can't wait either. Really looking forward to riding to a from the Bash this year with the group, rather than Solo..... Can't help when shit hits the fan.
Me, Thompy, Mungaman and Ken are leaving from Brissy Tuesday morning and Rev is meeting us at Coonabarabran. Then the team is on the road together :)
Im fitting my new HEL race lines tomorrow along with another K&N oil filter and a full set of fresh oil.
The new Givi rack is SENSATIONAL. The new Panniers from Bagster really finish the look (and practicality too)
I'm gonna be loaded up but have to carry more than some people so all good :)
The new Conti Road Attack 2's are awesome so far too.
Just got to charge the GoPro and empty all my cards and I'm set.
Kick the tyres and Light the fires!
Every (k) over is a THRILLER !

O...M...GGGGGGGGOD Normanville is next week
my stupid VY commonhoar has taken all my time... Last weekend being a nice long weekend I was planning on raising bars, check neck bearings and replace if needed, installing power output/supply points (socket & USB), fit out undertail for better storage and rewire cause who ever did it last f#@ked it up, track down software and spend a lot of time tuning power commander to remove dead spot on rev range... in other words spend last weekend getting bike ready for the run. This would leave me this weekend to test and tune bike one last time!!!
BUT NO.... after putting heads back on VY I drove it home. everything was great. The next day I hooked up trailer to help out sister and guess what??? yep, car over heated.. F @ # K it seriously looked like heads (or gasket) went again after spending $1K on fixing it.. So there was my Saturday, Sunday and 1/2 Monday.. getting car back home and going over operations and testing several times for CO2 leaking...
Called guy that repaired heads and unbelievably he seemed very helpful in getting problem fixed so I limped car out to mates shed again and got prepared to remove heads... Last night rode out to start the disassembly again but before putting a spanner to the motor decided to test again as car had time to sit properly. NO CO2 leak showing (stood there scratching my head..) did a temp check with car idling.. found large low speed fan not firing and replaced temp sensor and relay (fuse was good)... retested running temp again... found after high revs cycle (5 minutes @ 3K rpm) when returned to idle heat skyrocketed, stayed just under the red H for a few minutes before suddenly dumping back down also the top radiator hose was overly pressurised and bloody HOT while lower hose was barely pressurised and luke warm... mmmmmmm radiator bloackage??
yep, pulled radiator and back flushed... a lot of scale came out... used hose pressure and rattle gut to create a cavitating/vibrating reverse cycle flow to get out as much as possible. Refit radiator and retested temp run.. with only water in system it still raised temp a bit (just under the 1/2 way mark) and returned to normal...
I effin hate cars right now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but back to topic.. I still have to get all that work done on bike by Wednesday niight SH!!!!T

There is some stuff you can get from auto shps that helps remove/dissolve the scale. Maybe you should try it. If you had in a radioator there will also be plenty of it in the block, head and the rest of the system. Would just need a good flush after couple of days.

thanks guys.. the heads have been reconditioned and I replaced radiator 18 months ago with the place telling me they did a full system flush... but I am going to do it again with a good quality scale removal flush.
I replaced the thermostate about 2 months ago when I first noticed temp deviation in hte car.. $25 is normally cheaper than recon motor LOL

It is probably not a good idea to chuck it altogether, especially if yo live in an area when it gets cold in the night/morning.
It is possible that they just lossened up all the rubbish and their flushing didnt remove it from the system. So it all went into the radiator shortly after.
