Gents,
It might seem like far away but the time is flying and we need to start preparation for the year's main event aka FABULOUS BUSA GATHERING IN SA
I have done some scouting on the weekend to sus out the best place for the accomodation of such estimed guests. Taking into consideration the expected large numbers, the location of twisty roads, family friendliness and other recreational activities for those who choose them, I am quite pleased to annonce that the Normanville is a perfect location. About 75 km from Adelaide CBD and from the City traffic it offers all the facilities you might desire. I have visited two caravan parks and both offer accomodation from cabins to swags with everything in between. There are large kitchen and BBQ facilities, stone throw from the beach, kids fun, horse riding and the golf club. For those more luxury minded the local pub offerd guest rooms and there is also 5 star accomodation at the golf club. Owners of both were very friendly and happy to host us all but all mentioned the need to book early as the place is very popular and usually packed in season. That brings us to the topic of the TIME. We propose the November 30 - December 1 or the December 14-15. Could someone from the Admin please make this thread a "sticky" and set up the poll with these dates so we can lock it up ASAP. I would think 2 weeks should suffice to sort it out. Once we agree on the dates I will post all the the contact details and links.
Cheers for now

Both dates are difficult for me unfortunately landing me right in the middle of a set of day and finishing on night shifts.
Shit happens. The joys of shift work.

All,
Watch this space for an updates. This coming Sunday we have a meeting on the Unoficial (volunteers) Organizing Commetee for Normanville 2013 Busa Bash, at Amberlight Cofee shop which was a favourite hang-out spot for our depared friend Greenie.
So far it looks like the vast majority is supporting the 16-17 November weekend. If you planning to attend please vote (if you haven't yet) as we want to lock the date and get on with posting accomodation details.
Cheers,

A mate of mine rode Schnapper Point, Sellicks Beach, Normanville, Cape Jervis, Victor Harbour today, his advice is : if anyone does this trip in summer, especially anti-clock wise, do it in the morning, or you'll cop a head wind. Also, find out when the ferry is running, or you might get caught behind bulk cattle trucks geysering out cow excrement and fluid and in directions you wouldn't think possible.
A few years ago, this bend caused a few whoopsy's in a row:

The dirt road puts gravel on the road. It's your typical scenario with any dirt track joining onto a corner of a bitumen road. As you know, there's a few like it in the hills. This one is nasty as the track is elevated.

Hello all,
The 2013 Busa Bash will take place on the weekend 16-17th of November and our operational base will be a lovely town of Normanville located about 75 km south from Adelaide.
There are two sites that can accomodate our numerous visitors. One is a Beachside Caravan Park managed by Nathan, and second is Jetty Caravan Park Normanville run by Debbie and Peter. I have visited and "checked out" both and in my opinion the Jetty one is a bit better option as it has better facilities and it is also cheaper. However I leave this to individual choices as both are in very close proximity to each other.
The respective websites:
www.jettycaravanparknormanville.com.au
and
www.beachside.com.au
They contain all the details, contacts and booking information.
Please do not delay securing the places as they do get very busy.
There is also a plethora of activities available from golf and horseriding to fishing for the family members and kids while we are busy riding!
I will periodically add any pertinent information but please feel free to e-mail or pm me any time if you have any questions.
Cheers.

(Taken from another forum) The Coach House Normanville - Excellent breakfast Sunday morning and if you have stopped at the Lady Bay Resort you get a further 10% off too, worth the patronage, just opposite the Normanville Bakery
What a fantastic weekend it was ..
Congrats to all the guys and gals for such a well organized bash .. . The roads that we travelled and the sights that we saw (and the locals that we upset ) will remain in my memory for a long time to come (or at least until Alzheimer's sets in )
Thankyou so much to all the S.A crew for making us all feel so welcome ..
p.s .. I'm home safe and sound. I was going to stop at Hay overnight, but I was missing my family so much, I pushed on and did the whole trip (Normanville to Wollongong) in one go (with a few petrol and smoke stops thrown in .. )
