Most certainly, Tony......
I've only ever done one (rushed) tour of Tassie, and I definately wanna come back and do MORE!!!
Just before the WSB's at PI is the perfect time of the year to do it, both weather-wise and for the convenience of being close to that area for the races anyway!!
But next year is out for me unfortunately....coz I've already got some HUGE touring plans just about all sorted out!!

Great idea to do annually. It gives people plenty of time to plan. I know lots combine with a lap of the GOR, so if you're heading down to PI for the Supers why wouldn't you combine it this.
next year though, have another trip in the pipeline, so 2016 for me.

Hey Tony I think your offer to organise a yearly tour of Tassie is a great idea but I don't think its going to fly to well With the history of organised events at this club I don't think you will get a regular crowd down there and Tassie is certainly a stretch for most to do once especially for northern or western members
I think the best you can do Tony is offer your services to those from the club heading down there for the first time Because back in 08 we headed down there with no real idea of where to go and we didn't get any response from any members here to show us around so we did what bike riders do and rode we covered 3600ks in 5 days of Tassie so we seen just about every road down there some twice even three times lol I remember seeing the town of Deloraine three times on that trip it was funny at the time.We went back in 2010 and did the same thing but not as many klms
This trip is already in the pipe line for this time of year 2015 so once our core group of riders decide what suits dates will be put up for those interested to get on board and we will catch up with you when where over

Good to hear you and a few others enjoy it so much you got to come back lol
Late jan-feb is the best time IMO for weather......
I understand what you mean about people idea about coming to Tassie.. To some it feels as far away as going over seas. For those that do come and have no local help (and let's face it the travel dudes have no real idea of what Tassie is) the place seems to have repetitive loops as you found out.
Best think to do is chat with those that came down... See if the roads worked out for first 3 days were okay... It was only 1000 klm for them though and there were many roads Not taken. Got to keep something for the next time LOL
Be great to see you down here in 2015 Driller, though I hope it's not around the WA domination run as I have already started planning to do that.
BTW......
I am alway available for help and a ride to any member coming down here and happy to put up, what I call, good routes

Okay.. Looks like I better put some shit together then LOL
So far the Superbikes at Phillip Island look to be February 20-22, 2015 so....
Thinking of tour starting on Saturday, 14th February at the Devonport docks. D the 3 day Batty tour and end up at Port Arther on Monday night.
Tuesday will be around Hobart and down south to brunt island, Wednesday over to tarhune Airwalk and around new Norfolk. Thursday over to Zeehan/Queenstown, and Friday take the long way back to boat.
7 days on the road with an average of 350-450 klm per day...
Am thinking about $100/day for accommodation and meals plus fuel.
Pictures free LOL
Guides free (but will accept shouts at bar each night until green LOL)
If there is anything you really want to do/see we can fit it in or make tour longer
Cheers

well Im pretty much a definite but was looking at the GP dates which are October 17 - 19. I reckon this would be a more popular event for interstaters rather then the Supers. So its a question whether October is doable tassy weather wise? and how many would prefer doing it with the GP rather then Supers. For me its no diff just which draws the crowd more so, October of Feb. and either way Id wait for a sale on and book sailing Friday and Friday.

Volvi, Tassie weather is a fickle bitch.. October will be cold everywhere. We can have snow down to 500 metres up to December. Rain, frost, ice and general crappy conditions are always expected until late January.
The idea of mixing a great 7 days riding with a P.I. Weekend is what is doing it or me lol AND I will be on he boat with tickets the the small racing island too

After having done this trip earlier this year I,d have to agree with batty on this one and go In early February.best compromise on the weather not to hot of a day(just bloody humid) and nights not to cool either,Also out of 7 days on the island a couple of us only had one really below average (pissin down) afternoon and a slightly damp morning so didn't think that was to bad as opposed to October when there is snow and ice.So I,d lean towards what Batfink and Gooftroop suggest. On average $100 a night will cover you for a room but with a little research can be had for less but once you have worked out a rough plan try to book as early as possible because it's really popular with a lot of motorcyclists at this time of year, can't remember how many there were of us on the boat each way would have had to been 200 odd bikes on the trip each way.
