Thanks guys n gals I really appreciate the friendships I have here (and on the road).

For me the worse part is not knowing... some of you might have seen I enjoy facts and figures LOL I have always considered myself a "fixer" but that can only happen with all the info available. At least this info is starting to get gathered today when I get the initial CT scans done.

From what I understand the next steps for me after todays CT scan is an appointment with the Oncology clinic (WP Holman Clinic) for further scans that both better map out the cancer and are used as a basis for the Oncology Team to plan treatments. This type of cancer (normally classed as a skin cancer) is treated with a combination of surgery and radiation therapy. There might be a chance of chemotherapy but that's the trifecta of treatments anyway LOL.

Work has been good recognising over the past few years I have been doing 2 people's jobs, regularly doing 50+ hours a week even though I am on salary for 40 only. I have about 5 1/2 weeks sick leave owing to me and they have agreed to NOT use that for small periods off (like going to an appointment for an hour or so) and just letting me take it as a kind of flexi time for work done.

I am not one that likes to dwell on this, specially when they have unknown quantities and there are many things still on my bucket list. So until I know more and have a determined plan it's kind of life as usual.........

For those that enjoyed my little tour of Tassie this year I am starting to plan another for next year too. Looking at the same time, starts Monday of the 2nd week in February 2017 and goes until the following Saturday. However this time we go anti-clockwise with 2 riding days in north east Tas rather than the west coast. I have gotten some feedback about accommodation that is definitely going to be listened too. Apparently the Queenstown Hotel and Hobart houses were really appreciated but the nights at Ross and Launceston need changing. This will happen!! I have an idea for Launceston but trying to organise secure parking for bikes. More details to come over next 2 months (including prices).

On the club side of things... you all know I have been trying to get some club hoodies up and going..... well after WA and my tour I got a bit slack but I have today sent an email to order the 1sy hoodie which will be put up for sale as soon as it arrives and is of acceptable quality. This will allow me to be confident that they can be ordered and recieved within a set time period, the quality is right and the organisation isn't trying to rip me off LOL (yes I am dealing with an international company as no-one in Oz can guarantee single garment orders???

SO thats me in a nutshell up to today LOL

Cheers everyone and remember to keep it shiny side up

Friday I got to meet the ENT (Ears, Nose nd Throat) specialist, and damn I must be getting old as she seemed the same age as my oledest duaghter LOL. I do hate Specialists as they all seem to have the same problem, no idea as to how their actions effect their patients.

But seriously, after the one on one checks by the specialist she determined that I need surgery. Not a shock as her speciatilty IS surgery LOL. However she did get things moving and in a pblic hosiptal system and the more advanced the request from the higher Dr is good.

She will be meeting with the Oncology Team this Friday to go over my case and things might change (as in the surgery), which can be cancelled but being already booked is a good thing. From what I got told my cancer is treatble by radiation therapy though yet there is no idea as to where the cancer is.

If I could cross my fingers to make things real, then I would be hoping the Specialist is right and my tonsil is the primary and the "linked" lymph gland is a simple mastosis of this cancer. But I have to both accept this and be ready for a long struggle with both treatment and mental health.

I do thank everyone that has contacted me and sorry to anyone that my struggle has raise unwanted hurt.

Cheers riders

Hey Tony, New Years Eve 2015 the doctor gave me the bad news about cancer. Surgery in January and February, continuous tests and scans and further surgery next month. Went back to work in April to a deskjob and been taking the drag bike out and running 8's as recent as the Winternationals. Knocks me around a bit but not going to sit on the couch and wait. All I can offer is keep your fitness up and keep doing the stuff you enjoy so you don't think about it. Seems all too common nowadays unfortunately. Good luck. Ken
