Whats it like living up there? is there a drag strip???? Im really considreing trying tog et a transfer to live and work in Townsville. at least i could afford more bling off grant due to not having to pay postage but seriously tho whats it like?????

If you want to race then the place to live is Mackay

They have full ANDRA sanction and put alot of money back

into the track...........Townsville's strip is Black listed and has

no ANDRA santion or santioning from any one else eg Cams

so you run the risk of not haveing any cover when you race.

That is part of the reason our ANDRA lic and race entry's

cost so much......and the track it self cant hold a stock

Busa from spining up through 3 gears, ask Grant he's bin there

when I was all out of shape going down there track. My bike

looks like it should have bin in a Drift Race.......

i only drag race for fun and was more just thikning of the place itself ill drive to mackay if i have to if its that bad

If your not going to get into it then the track may be ok. I am normally towing away some where so you can allways throw your bike in my trailer if you want to go to Mackay or Brisy
But it's a great place to live, the Table lands have some
f*&^ing great roads to ride. We used to go up there and do a big loop around 1100k'sm and get back just arfter sunset
had a shit load of fun...............

Well im afraid i cant speak to highly of fuggen townsville,although i dont live there.
I stopped there one night on my way to up to cairns and managed to get a puncture and my wallet stolen out of my tank bag in a pub all within a couple of hours.
When i reported it to the police station,the local cop tells me its not unusual and that the theft rate per capita is one of the highest in australia.To me it seems like its the western suburbs of FNQ.

I have gone to bed and left my keys in my bike and the

car and have never had a problem.....where did this

theft take place There are a few spots that I wont

live in but over all it's not a bad town..... ......just

Shit I worked there a few years ago! It used to be a real dive but they cleaned it up a fair bit over the years....
How long ago was it There hasn't bin rooms there for a while now, it's just a pub now
