How fast have you taken your bike

Copied these stats from another Busa site in the USA and was wondering how we would stack up in this world of speeding kills?

Whippin what????

Isn't it illegal to go over the speed limit?

I'm sure all Hayabusa owners are very responsible,
having bought their machine to mearly look at,or maybe to cruise responsibly to the local Cafes.

Oh bugger it, 150mph - what the hell's 5th and 6th for!!!
I've been known to whip it from time to time!

Just think DEVO

I would never speed on the public road
On a private track 300kph on the GPS
then I ran out of track
I was surprised how much the rubber balled up on the Bridgies, oh and by the way make sure, if you do "high speed runs" (off road of course) wear a firm fitting jacket as mine was flapping that much it was blurring my vision

You're dead right about the jacket. At 280+ (speedo) mine flaps around and blurs my vision too. Gets too bad by 295 to safely(?) continue! Regards,

Yeah,ain`t it a hoot

Too bad most mere mortals ain`t ever gonna experience the intensity of travellin` 10kms in 2mins (the Hay Plains)

& yep,ya don`t see much...but the adrenaline hit you`re receivin` certainly getz your other senses a-buzzin`

& WTF are the 4.24% doin` on a Busa anyway???

In a straight-ish line, when the idiot car drivers aren't around, I might touch 100mph occasionally, but cruising at 90 mph is more like it. Since girlfriend became pregnant about three years ago I've become Mr. Sensible.

Hit 320kph on the freeway at about 5am one sunday morning, corrected speed was probably closer to 300 . It was one hell of a buzz, I'm gonna go for throttle stop next time.......hmmmm......the trip to the island sounds like a good place. (just got to pick my moment)...

Hhhhmmmm.....Occaisionally to 150mph but the only thing that takes a wippin' is my demerit points.
Qld used to be the place to "have a fang" but the Beattie govt unfortunately realized the untapped revenue that was available and have really clamped down over the last couple of years. Consequently my speed has decreased accordingly.
So now I spend more time looking at the speedo and less looking at the road. Has this made me a safer rider?......I think not.
I would never quit the Busa but am considering getting a cheap track bike and Mr Plod and Mr Beatie can go and get stuffed.

Chopper has hit the nail on the head. I spend more time looking at the speedo, taking my eyes off the road where they should be. The authorities need to lightened up.:">

Ive had a touch over 280 on the spedo 2-up. I felt quite comfortable but my pillion tells me it was wierd with absolutly no wind for a second or so, then a sledge hammer of wind followed by nothing again etc... Im glad i was on the front.

As a model pillion, I've seen 285 with tankbag, gear bag, 50 litre back pack, pillows, and a fabulous navigator.

According to page 45 of the NRMA mag, loosing your licence is easier than ever (hard to believe I know!)
"Automatic licence suspension or disqualification periods apply to driver who: Driver more than 45km/h over the speed limit - suspension or disqualification for six months. Drive more than 30km/h but not more than 45km/h above the speed limit - suspension or disqualification for three mths. Drive more than 130km/h but not more than 140k/h in an 110km/h zone - suspension or disqualification for one month (excludes drivers restricted to 100km/h or less) in addition offenders face fine of $197 and three demerit points."

They seem to be using the word "drive" lucky we "ride" - we must be exempt!!!

280 klm/h then changed into 6th. Hit the needle limit,(restricted model) about 195 klm/h. The tacho kept going until 10500 revs. You wouldn't beleive me if l told you how many times l have seen the end of the speedo. Always on the track of course... Why else would one buy a Busa???
Cheers, Phil. Recovering and resting not riding.

Hit the end of the speedo 9 times shooting across the Nullabor a couple of months back! Had bags and all on the back - with a jerry can to light it up for rocket propulsion
