Hotham ride - 7th December
#1
On the 7th December there will be a ride for those keen enough to ride some of Victorias best "scenic" riding.
The plan is to head off on the Saturday (7th) and ride to Harrietville where we will book the local hotel.
On the Sunday (8th) we ride over Hotham, Omeo, Bairnsdale and back to Melbourne.
Its about an 800km trip with some excellent riding and brilliant views.
If your interested, email me so I can get some numbers to book the hotel. They have done some good deals in the past for bikies. You can expect $30-50 for accomodation, dinner and breakfast.
I want to book around October so you have plenty of time to decide. Money will be expected soon after I book, so if your one of these people who cant make up their mind till the day, dont bother.
See the map below for the route, but I'll make up some maps to take for the day.
If you can afford the weekend in time and money, try to make it.... Its well worth the trip.
email brendon@lexicon.net for questions, although I probably cant answer them.

PS Demeester, move this post wherever you think it should go. Edited by: demeester  at: 10/14/02 8:31:01 am

Beestroyer, great idea, I'm certainly interested, probably 90% chance I'll go. I'll definately know by October.

Cheers, Scott W.

If your a definate, feel free to tell me now by email or on here.

G'Day Brendon (Beestroyer),

I was wondering if this pub at Harrietville had enough room for some New South Welshman as well ? If so, and if anyone else is interested I thought we could arrange a NSW ride to meet up with you guys at Harrietville for the night. That is if you guys don't mind of course. If this OK, I will start a new topic for the NSW guys and see what response we get. This a few more K's than you guys but it would be a good opportunity to meet the Victorian members.

No problem this end. Sounds great.
The hotel has 24 rooms that could fit 4 people, but Ive temporarily booked them twin share.
I told the hotel I would have numbers by mid October, so if you were to organise some numbers by then we can book the rooms.
Good luck.

Brendon.

Hey Beestroyer,

Yeah my folks live in King Valley, but I'd rather stick with the group and be sheltering up at the pub. I'm still up for it.

One query though, I assumed it would be all asphalt travelling, by my old man queried that. So, is there any dirt track travel, not that it bothers me [much], I don't fancy travelling on dirt/gravel more than I need to. [Think of that radiator]

Cheers,

100% asphalt unless your going too fast for that corner.
If I have by chance marked a dirt road on that map, its wrong. Your radiator will be safe.

I will be posting the details wednesday as my other group had booked for the 30th and 1st (ie weekend before). Im getting them to change. As long as that happens, we'll have 19 bikes. (only 5 busas amongst them).
Details tomorrow.
