I was thinking of trying a 45 rear. How much will this throw the speedo off? What revs would I have @ 100k?

A 45t sprocket will require a longer chain...... as there isnt enough forward movement in the Swingarm slots to accomodate this. 43t is it.

Yep 43 on the rear is what i normally run, great for Monos

This is why your fuel consumption is up the shit SIMMO.
I would guess that you would lose 1Klm per litre for every extra tooth you throw on the rear wheel. (Unless you put a smaller sprocket on the front) Rgds BUSGO

I have a 16 tooth front sprocket off a 98 GSXR750 will this fit a 99 busa ?
Has any one tried 16 front and 40 rear, what was the result ?

If you divide the number of teeth on the rear by the number on the front you will get the gear ratio.
EG. 40/17 = 2.353 which is the standard BUSA ratio. Other examples. 42/16 = 2.625 = higher torque and less speed. 40/16 AND 43/17 = 2.5 higher torque and less speed than standard but not as much as the other example. The factory ratios are worked out by engineers to give the best overall performance/economy. Rgds BUSGO

20T front 36T rear + 12% overdrive 5th and 6th gears for top speed , though with 168 RWHP you can just pull 6K rpm in top I have a couple of gear programmes if anyone needs one ?

16t isnt too good for the life of the chain nor the sprocket
