Hi people Im new here and Im frustrated by an engine knock on my 06 Busa. Ive had it for 6 months and got it from a well known Melbourne bike dealer. Ive put on a couple of thousand ks and shes only got 18500 all up. I love this damn bike but Im worried. After say a half hour ride it starts to develop a lower end knocking sound and vibe you can feel through the bars. I have been riding all manner of bikes for thirty years and dont have a good feeling about this. I have looked deep into the threads on hayabusa org and a few people reckon some k6s have incorrectly machined crank jounals and ill fitting bearings. I rang a busa guru who said it was rare but true. This is like a goddam conspiracy as apparently Suzuki dont wanna know. Anyone know about this shit ?
PS it does this in neutral also clutch in or out no difference. Please dont make me buy a Honda
try 20/50 oil and see if once the oil is hot it sounds the same. The thicker hot viscosity should quieten it.It should not exist when the oil is cold.

This is also a known problem with the clutch basket on the busas not having strong enough rivets. My K4 also has it and when I spoke to the local motorcycle shop in regards to it, they said that they could put in a new clutch, but it would probably happen again at a later date. Mine usually goes away with the clutch in though.

guy in townsville had a k6 with with a similiar problem by the sounds of it. the dealership in conjuction with suzuki australia gave him a new bike as it happened while the bike was only very new. dont want to alarm you. sounds similiar tho. it turned out to be the problem you alluded to. so maybe its time for a 1441cc engine kit:p

Who wants to spend an additional $10k when this will go in for a lot less?
Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!
