HANDLEBAR,FOOTPEG MODS.

Hi i,m looking at trading my m109r on a 2009 white hayabusa but after taking one for a test ride i need to make a few mods. i had a motorbike accident back in 76 and cant bend my right knee all the way back so i need to lower the footpegs about 3/4 to an inch and lift the handlebars up and inch what i,m looking for is anyone that has made simler mods as i really enjoyed the hayabusa and have always liked the look of them. i can ride it as they are but the rght knee gets very sore and just that inch lower will make all the differance. hoping someone on here is able to come up with some ideas. thank you. Biker

I would say a set of Buell footpegs and a set of Helibars would make your trip on the Busa more pleasurable for you. Pi_thumbsup

Welcome to the club, have you tried the B-king? I think if you are not that fussy about the fairing then it should fit the bill with out any modifications.

Grumpy, I am 6-5' and had similar comfort problems with both my gen 1 and gen 2 busa's. I did the following to both and it made a big difference for me.

Buel pegs - about 1 hour to mod so they fit.
Helibars - http://www.easyriderimports.com.au/heli.html again about an hour to fit.
Repadded seat with extra foam raising it about 40mm.

I rode the gen 2 around Australia setup this way.

I also fitted the ABM kit to Franko's bike and found it to be comfortable although you sit very high and mirrors are useless.

IMHO the motorcross bars wont help your knees at all, improvements will be made with lower pegs, Helibars and if your legs are long enough raised seat.

Good luck

I've fitted vario Pegs to my gen 1. They come from Motorrad Garage in perth. Fit straight up, no remodelling or dremelling or anything. Take your old ones off and put these on. They lower the rider pegs 23 or 30mm. I have them front and back for the long rides.

+1 on the Buell peg mod. The kit from the guy on the hayabusa.org forum bolted up on my Gen II no mods required. About 10 mins per side including adjustment.

Noticeably more comfort (I'm 6'4") but obvisouly less clearance in the twistys.
