I understand a lady once had her bag screend when she was entering Parliament house in Canberra as a visitor.
Same result - however, she was asked to remove the "device" to check that it had batteries in it not explosives. All done very discretely, nothing, however, could disguise the rather red cheeks the poor darling was wearing as she left the screening area.


True story.
