Why do hot ups

Funny question but why work a Busa motor unless you do track work or Drag racing,I personally don't beleave a person could really ride a stock one to it's limits anyway.

I believe most of us can't ride a stock Busa to it's limits, but taking your philisophy, let me ask us all this...

Why did we buy a Busa and not something we could ride to its limits to start with?

I think in our [honest] answer we can understand why someone would turbo or increase HP on a Busa...

Where's Bazman??? - He can ride. (I recall seeing a certain nameless individual doing wheelies up the Macquarie Pass...)

Anyway, if I was willing to blow another $10K, I would get a 1397 kit in an instant!

Turbo and NOS? Ridiculous.

I think you'd be looking at $10,000 for a Stage 1 turbo kit. Personally, I'd rather spend that much on either a 1397 or a supercharger.

Why?

Because you never have to worry about handling ever again. - Just drift around corners...Pi_tongue

Oi! Knuppel2
Watch it little fella or I'll come over and straighten you out!!

Seriously though, I'm with Rainbow Re; turbo, NOS or big bore.

If I have a choice for street or race track (circuit), I'd go for big bore Busa. I've ridden Blackzook's 1447 Busa around Eastern Creek a few times and there's nothing like it... smooth power delivery (more than I can handle) from any speed. The thing has the HP of a Moto GP bike!

Dont think i've ever been on a ride in the last 6 years of Busa / B-King ownership
that I havent had full throttle at sometime thinking "need more".
You dont need Rossi skill's for taking off from the lights or overtaking.

I agree you might not need 170+hp around every corner..LOL, but
if your using full bore on the strip then its useable in places on the road.

I was told by an SV650 owner that anything more was just unnessesary and
a waste and wouldnt be used or needed. After a few days riding my bikes I
was told that getting back on the SV was a bit tame and lacking.

I've owned Nitrous and big bore kit'ed bikes,
worth every last cent for entertainment value alone.

I think it's called adrenalin rush Very Happy .................... if you think a Busa is quick then add 50 to 100 Hp to it ? The best way to try and describe it is to imagine your bike accelerating as hard in fifth as it does in first ............... then add some ............... any that have ridden a 250Hp + bike can relate I'm sure Pi_freak >>>>>>>>>>>>>> your sphincter muscle Showback nearly tears the seat of the bike.
n02 is without doub't best bang for buck but just not practical for the street. Turbo will probably give you three times the power as all motor for the same money, but all motor is as covert as it gets.

The busa is one of the biggest most powerful sportbikes you can get. I was blown away on my first ride and took some time to explore the power available on tap.

After a year of ownership, it still feels amazing when "on it" but I guess you can get used to it and crave something more. The beauty of the busa is that you don't start looking at bigger more powerful bikes to upgrade, as there isn't anything to move up to. Power upgrades are the only option!

I commute on mine and although I could do that on a 250, it's more fun on a bigger engine even at the same low speed.

Some aspect of owning a busa is that it's a trophy - bling is just as pointless on the road, but we still get it. Unfortunately, another aspect will be 'small willy syndrome' and you'll always get some of those - check out juvenile, macho comments I've received when stating that I rarely take the busa over 120km, because I'm only ever going to work on over-policed roads.

I've wanted a turbo for the trophy aspect and having a toy, but as I continue to grow up and mature into my real lifestyle, I appreciate the OEM power more and have better things to spend my money on - like my daughter. :)

That said being careful on the roads is pointless. No one rides more like a right Dylan than me, yet I have still managed to lose all my points. When I get them back, I'll be losing them for a reason.
Carpe Diem!
