Finally getting fixed
#1
You guys may recall in January I asked for someone in Brissy to fix the girl after I came off due to food water over the road.

Well it's been a saga, but she's finally in getting done.

1) Asked on here for a recommendation & took it to that repairer.
2) He (or rather his side kick) promised the world.
3) I submitted the quote to Insurance & it was approved.
4) He confirmed that all parts had been ordered.
5) 8wks later I call to see if the parts have arrived & he tells me that he's had to close up & go out of business. From that he recommended someone else to take it to.

So now I have to start again.
1) Advise the insurance company of the issue
2) Take the bike to the new repairer & get another quote.
3) 2nd quote was $1000 MORE than the first. (maybe why he went out of business)
4) Submit to insurance again. It was approved.
5) THe repairer is very busy & can't get it in for several wks.
6) When he is able to fit it in, I'm out of the country. So it had to wait a bit longer.

I finally dropped it off 2wks ago & being told it will probably take 3 wks or so due to workload. So HOPEFULLY I'll have it back some time this week....

Man, just think how much frustration and riding time you could save doing it all yourself. It is not a brain surgery if you mechanically minded ( I assume everybody riding a bike is) and it would be so much easier to organize just painting and a tune-up after. Insuranse still have to pay whether you doing it yourself or not.
Just a suggestion Biker

You seem to have your facts wrong there buddy.
1) I always use Pete. Just ask him. He'll tell you how much work goes his way from me. Have done for a long time, but in this particular case I ended up using someone a little closer to home.

It's been to Pete's a couple of times since it was taken up for me.
2) Regarding that time it was taken for me, thanks was given publicly on this forum & was acknowledged.
3) Regardng fuel, I was told not to worry because the trip was being made anyway. Didn't matter if there was a bike on the trailer or not.

So not sure where you get your info from, but it's wrong!!!!!!!
