Nobody wants a Gen2 Block.
...looks like G-Man will need to knock his OEM valve guides out & bung some APE Valve Guides in.
...decisions, decisions Lol2

For any others out there thinking that building a Gen 2 1441 on a budget it can be done.
I snaged a bargain in the way of a set of barrels, piston kit and gaskets from the states (thanks for the heads up Twistgrip).
Decided from the start I wasn't going to touch the head, as I was chasing torque not outright HP.
I pulled the engine out myself ( and a couple of mates as it's bloody heavy ), I also pulled the top end down myself.
Next step was to give it a motorcycle mechanic mate who has his own business 'Highway Motorcycle Repairs' who did an awesome job of reassembling and setting up the top end.
Next was to bring it back home and fit it back in ( again with help of some mates ) fun part was trying to remember where everything went back on... lol
With fingers crossed it fired to life at the first hit of the button, did a couple of gentle k's ( already feeling nice ) dropped the oil and filter , then put more k's on it ,next step was to get it tuned...
Many thanks go to Mark at 'Full Bore Motorcycles' who worked his usual magic,

Bear in mind this still has stock header pipes with micron slipons and a stock untouched head, with stock cam timing..
And the end result is...

194 HP with 116 ft of torque !! ..

By the way it's friggin awesome to ride!!..just pulls from as low as 2 grand on the tacho ..
Still can't get the smile off my face..So for all those that are thinking about doin it ..DO IT !! You won't regret it.

50 more to be had if you do the cams and head

50 more horses ,,, Scary

But wouldn't most of that power be up top. I very rarely use the upper rev range as it is, that's unless it's a bit of a spirited ride with others .
But budget was also a priority as spare funds and free time seem to be a little harder to come by as now I'm a dad for the first time,,,

But that aside I'm sure it won't take long befor I'll end up wanting more.

I guy I know once said to me..."Too much horsepower is still not enough"
And he use to race a 400+hp drag bike....

Enjoy what you have mate and when time & money allows do cams and especially clean up the head. Hardly any change in bottom end but up high it just goes nuts.
