for me id pay my way out of debt ,build a little house and a huge fooking shed ,in the middle of 200 acres ,so i couldnt hear and screaming funkin kids ,and live the rest of my days my way,i would get a big dam cut in with an island in the middle with gazebo ,and hemock ,row over get on the hemock ,no wife ,to listen to on my island,beer fridge stereo,

I feel the same as Kendo in todays economic time's , cost of living etc .. but on the plus side you did mention no wife, so it should be possible.

A million would be heaps, just use most of it up, hide a bit, leave 100k in the bank and go on a disability support pension like the other million or so out there. Having a wife and kids does complicate things a bit though.

id buy the land up here 200 k, ive already built a few houses myself,owner builder,
id still have 1/2 a mill in the bank when complete , you only eat sleep and shit in a house ,no manshion required ,i forgot root as well lol

It would be enough for most people. Put it on high interest on 6% per annum, that would get you about $60000 in interest a year that should be enough to retire comfortably ,provided that you already own your house..
