Flinching is for people who HAVE experienced pain and know what to expect. It will be hard trying not to but I cannot imagine not flinching.
Speaking of commitment, I've seen men in Thailand who have had their (international conglomerate) employer's brand tattoed on the back of their hands! Sack the bastards I say!
