I've been in a rather large group of Busa's that did the Canberra to Cooma run rather quickly one year - we should do that again sooner rather than later. We'd need Driller and Shredder to run out the front for us again! lol
Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!

CaptainRob, the yanks run 1 mile events regularly, and some longer ones.
All on sealed surfaces, you see some amazing speeds, upper 300's and 400 kph.
Some mile events are standing start much like a drag start, but a lot are flying starts.
I think the poms run a few also.
Apart from the ASF one at Casino, i havent heard of any events in this country. Im sure around the country there are heaps of unused airstrips, barely used sealed country roads, etc that an event like this could be held but as said, insurance is the big bitch in all of this.

Could anyone here on ASF ask if it's happening again please, or even a link to results from the last run, perhaps?

Really, or am I missing a personal joke?
Pete and I may or may not have had the occasional unofficial flying mile run down Cooma way but someone does run a official event. I was going to try and go last year but to many things happening with NFR and the ASF drag weekend in VIC it was one to many events I will try and dig up details

I contacted them about Temora and Cooma, and neither allow motorbikes due to insurance

They were sponsored by Shannons and they didn't even allow it. Is there an insurer that does bikes more than Shannons does that we could approach?

Probably true. If you look at the photos, many of them are driving $300,000 cars that most GSXR1000's would leave for dead

Id love a long distance eg mile or 1000m event. Id certainly make an appearance if there was an event held within cooee of my place.
Regards
Dan
