Shift Stalling at 5&6
#16
Use it often or barely use it.... I still say the issue is lack of conviction in engaging gear. As said I often hit 6th at 80 to cruise.. And compared to a lot of other comments about staying in 3rd it seems like my 5th/6th gears might be used more than most, but I can still get false neutrals or a 1/2 shift that can clunk.
Each time it happened I always did a quick assessment of riding style (eg, loading up, backing off, cruising... Plus riding position of leaning, forward, upright, relaxed) and each time to most common thing was I was relaxed and not focusing on gear change.
Now I have only about 1/20th or less 6th gear issues and it, IMO, is due to me dropping the gear lever about 8mm all up. My foot isn't reaching up so much and it is still high enough for my boot to slide under. So I say set the bike up for you.

I agree with Batfink on this one Scary ..... it IS commitment to the gear change
I can get mine to fake neutral between 5th and 6th anytime if i pussy change (so I dont)

it is how they built the box ....with the bug step between 5 and 6
