I'm still curious as to where the small bits of copper in your oil came from. That sort of thing keeps me awake at night.

G'day

The copper might just be a tip of the lid to the original model...a heritage feature...

bloke ive been telling everyone on here for years to always check the fuel filter as they are a common problem, alot of people will tell you this that and the other an they no f*&^ing nothing,an like me it cost me a motor ,when in fact it was a blocked fuel filter, look guys its simple when your hayabusa shits itself 99% of the time its starving for fuel ,,,,thats it,,, an most bullshit wanna bee bike mechanics dont have a f*&^ing clue, of course this makes me angry ,as to how many on here n ishoc have i helped with this knoledge but yet noone sends me their rooted filters so i can reco them ,

its sounds like my 2003 busa ,bought it from a pathetic liar who told me he doesnt go over 4,000rpm cause it scares him ,infact it wouldnt go past 3k bc the filter was solid with shit ,and penrith motorcycles had charged this poor bastard $880 to tell him they couldnt sort the problem!!!!so he thought by not telling me that it was all good, i dont think there was ever a lemon busa made ,im sure its the fucktards whom have no f*&^ing clue and do no maintance are the f*&^ing lemons ,just selling on the problems

very happy you got the busa going ,sorry no,one with any brains actually came to help you

Out of interest revhead, did you find copper parts in your oil, and hear a significant knocking noise?
I think you would have to be some kind of specialist to diagnose a fuel filter problem from those symptoms.
Checking the obvious first always goes without saying, but it's not always that straight forward.

In hindsight the amount of copper was fairly insignificant, although in my mind there should have been none at all. My initial thoughts were of a big end in the intial phases of self destruction.

Just about to leave and go pick up the bike; only 4 entries so far :-)

Lets say a competition end at around 7pm WA time. Will post up dyno sheet.

Cheers everyone.
