Here's an update.
On the Kessner Suzuki website, they have Partfinder for looking up parts.
These are not a genuine Suzuki programmes so can't be guaranteed as accurate, but normally are reasonable.
I entered every vin number, beginning with 00001 until I came up with a non 1999/2000 colour code.
I have prepared a spread sheet of all unrestricted vin numbers and here's the preliminary findings.
Copper/Silver bikes: 198
Red/Black bikes: 277
Number of Vin's not recorded: 85
Total: 560...
I now am going to transfer the known owners and colours to the new sheet for comparison.

I reckon just like GT Falcons, there are more Copper bikes out there then there probably should be, If I was to buy one now I would definitely be checking as best as I could to make sure it was genuine.

In Sydney recently I seen a copper bike pulling into a popular stopping place for riders, it just seemed different as soon as I seen it, the paint just wasn't the right colour, just a little to light to be correct and stood out to me but if you didn't have one or know them as we would you wouldn't know any different.

When he took his helmet off I realised I knew this guy but hadn't seen him in say 4 or so years, my memory is fantastic, especially with bikes etc, Lol, this guy had a Blue Hayabusa, I said you painted the old blue bike ? he said no, I've only ever had this copper one, I've collected all 3 muscle bikes now, Blackbird, ZX12 and this copper busa, when I walked away I was disappointed that this guy had lied to me, I should have took note of the vin

FYI.....
The paint code for the copper is Y9K.....
If you have a vin, ring Suzuki and they can confirm 100% what it was originally.
