Interesting article, basicly confirms what we have been thinking.
Arguing with idiots is like wrestling a pig in the mud, you both get dirty but the pig enjoys it!

I've been thinking the brunette in the office with the great backside and pert breasts might be worth the effort. Does it confirm that thought ?

Richard - in a nutshell it says that the Blackbird is in 4th place as capable but unexciting and is the slowest bike of the four, it says that giving the Busa and the zx14 a handfull in any situation requires "balls of steel" and of the Busa (125KW) rear wheel hp and the zx14 (129KW)hp
the Busa has the better low down torque spread which leaves the zx14 behind, but they question the wisdom of having most of the Kawazaki's power starting at 6000rpm They said that the zx14 shades the Busa in the twisties but the rear gets a little loose and the front gets light when pushed hard - it's quicker but not as stable as the Busa. Apparently the zx14 is speed limited to 298kmh and he said that when he tested the '99 Busa it only clocked up 311klm on the radar gun - but ruffy has seen 20 to 30 klm above that "standard". They gave second to the zx14 and first place went to the BMW 1200R - Not as quick as the Busa and zx14, but apparently heated handgrips and electronic suspension adjustment got it over the line, it's also 8 grand dearer than a Busa - go figure! I tried to be as unbiased as i could In the end I think it's horses for courses really - two of the three testers were grey beards - maybe the power of the Busa and zx14 scared them, who knows Cheers Ruffy

I did 3 trips to the Island and back ( from Townsville )
and every time I meet up with some one on the trip, they just thought I was mad to ride a Busa that far And alot of the blokes I meet along the way were a fair bit older than my self. You pay your cash and take your pick...... my bike suits me just fine. I think a 14 would be a shit load of fun to, each to there own Regards Richard “98% of all Harleys ever sold are still on the road. The other 2% made it home.”

Just bought my copy today,i'll sit down tonight and read it with an unbiased opinion.
you keep harping on the BMW,you know you want one, just do it.Its dam ugly though, even uglier than the busa. I prefer the naked looking one,it looks much tuffer! Also had a quick scan on the new 800cc GP bikes, seems they are quick right from the start, see i keep telling you that you dont need cubes to be quick. Once you go black, you'll never look back !!!

Gee for 8grand more..
For 8 grand on a Busa forged mags wheels ,rear suspension and brakes and a Titanium system and u would loose 18-20kgs. Not that I am trying to sell anything.. Cheers, Kawasuki

That 8grand more is only for the naked BMW.
If you want the fairings and all the goodies it is $28,000 on the road. The BUSA WINS! HANDS DOWN. |
