Suzuki Hayabusa vs Triumph Rocket 111
#16
Pictures as promised

Gary, complaining that the Hayabusa puts out only a paltry 170HP, decides to soup it up a bit. Theres also a generator from Bunnings on the rear seat because Gary only just realised the hiar dryer was 230V, and the Busa was 12V. Meanwhile Mark was on the other side unbolting it's brakes for the Rocket.

Pan's polished rim. It was very close to being finished.

I can't believe how clean everyone's bikes are on here. Show room stuff. Amazing. Don't think I'll ever post pics of mine.

My polished rims have gone dull. What is that being used to do the wheel above?

We were using Mother's polish, then buffing with a drill...

Rocket, yeh, I ride pretty slow and upright around town, though it may be flatter than usual because of excessive drags/burnouts too...

Yep,

Pan is correct with this, Mothers Aluminium Polish and a buff on a pistol drill. Level of sheen is dependant on the time you want to spend on the rim. Ideally you need the tyre off and a lathe with a gap bed, then you'd be looking at mirror quality.

Yep, I can square them off Rocketman...

Just put the last Bridgy I got off you yesterday Rocket. The Pirelli Diablo Corsa squared off until I could count the strands running around the tyre. No wonder it was slipping around on the last few days commuting.

Mothers Aluminium Polish is definatley the goods for keeping the alloy shiney. If you get any stains or marks start with Mothers on some steel wool. Works a treat and "does not" leave scratches.

I just hope my days of polishing alloy wheels is over.
The new chromies are the best I've had so far. Just wipe the dust off then Windex them!

Can you download your thingie onto photobucket and get it back up and running? The dreaded "x" is killing me...

TWO BRUCES!!!!!!!!! You really are splashing out mate. Have you pumped out your inground pool and filled it with Jelly?

People should be getting a clue to what we mean by the name "Bruce" now. And for those of you who are named Bruce, if Simmo is extra cautious around you it's a phase he's going through. Soon he will buy a VFR and start mumbling about how riding was so much better in the good old days.......when Triumphs had similar brakes to everything else on the road, not the 1 pot acting on a 100mm disc like they have now.
