red hot tip

I ALWAYS lock my bike and remove the key except about 2 weeks ago when I parked at a local water skiing lake and I left the ignition on for about an hour.

Battery was only 3 days old but VERY flat. Have you ever tried to clutch start a 200+kg fuel injected motorcycle on a dirt track - it ain't easy. I finally managed to get it started down a concrete boat ramp. I just managed to get it started and stopped rolling before hitting the water.

I rode home the long way to put some charge back in battery, but when I got home I stopped it and it would not start :((

I went back to local dealer following morning and explained my stupidity. After a bit of a chuckle, they said that new battery should have come back up after reasonable length ride and they replaced it under warranty.

They are in business to make a dollar, but I always get good service from them.
