I would still wait 'til the thing comes out.
See it, touch it, play with it (the bike too) and make a decision after that...

ah dont be silly!!! save really hard between now and early next year then you will be able to afford to keep the copper and buy the new one.

As nice as it would be to have both, it might be better to see it in the flesh then choose between the two. I let my copper go a little too cheaply, but when its costing you alot of money, it can be a relief.

The copper ones will probably eventually go up in value, but its going to be like atleast 10 years from now. By then, your going to have really high k's & if your just holding onto it for collector value, its kinda silly.

Its been hard letting go of every flash car, flash bike i've had in the past, but i've always found something different and exciting afterwards. You can probably always find another around at some point down the track.

Who knows.

ahhh young josh i could see it in your eyes at max's you looked like a wild bear that has just been caged and you have only jsut realised that the prison of sensibility has set in on your life and once it starts its a roller coaster of sensible descisions like buying a toyota prius due to good fuel economy etc. untill one day this roller coaster of boringness ends in sudden and violent crash off the rails in which you will be so irresponsible due to your years of sacrifice that you will end up hurting your self!!! personally i figure we all ganna get nuked once china and the usa get cranky with each other so may aswell have fun before my internal organs start to melt from radiation poisning

Hey Dan,
You obviously love the subject. Not one mistake of spelling or gramatical use of the Queens English, and to see you wax so lyrical, impressive - f*** the yanks mate, they can't even build a bike that does in excess of 134kph without scaring their riders (Heidi will understand) - the Chinese already own us with their cheap computers and parts, clothes etc.

careful on ebay as you dont know what youll be selling it for till last minute and can be a real bummer to have to commit selling at a price you shouldnt be. reserve auctions are a hard sell. ppl always wanna think theyre getting a bargain.

but if I were you seeing that you may just own one of the most desired busas available, hang on to it, wait till new hits the floor avagoodfeel like when you were 16 and only then consider, and NEVER trade her in. theres always a good market for your bike. and may even get better when new one dissapoints and buyers wants an original copper instead, yours may just go up in value. keep your cool, for the moment the buyer market will be tight till they see the new model. theyll be sitting on the fence. and you wont get best price possible. if your gonna sell Dec/Jan will be the best time, and if shes taking too much room she can always sit next her sister no. 033 in my garage.

PS. I wanna see our bikes together one day for pics.

f*** man, your psychic. At one point I was actually thinking of getting some little fuel economy shitbox like the prius....then i thought..

f*** that shit, gonna have some fun. I'm getting a 300zx twin turbo next week to last me a while until summer when i might sell and get the new busa, only reason for a car right now is a little more practicality.

It will atleast save rhi's poor little barina. I've been thrashing the f*** out of that little fwd piece of crap. It seriously takes over 18 seconds to hit 100km/hr with the foot to the floor! SADDDD

When you think about though, the prius is f*&^ing expensive. even a 98-99 model is over $10,000.00 And even if they save you $1000.00 a year in fuel, it will take years and years to actually start saving money if you consider the cost of buying these f*&^ing retarded hybrids. The busa gets better fuel economy on the highway than those shitboxes anyway.

Its almost like those 4c off promotions & the new fad (spend 5 bux instore and get a further 2 c off)

they are scams. You actually lose money because you spend more money than you needed to simply to get a little pissy 50c saving on a full tank. Example: You walk into BP with the intention of only getting fuel, you see the magical 2c off promotion, so you purchase 2 mars bars at 3 bux each.
you weren't hungry nor really wanted mars bars but you thought it would save money. you now just spent $6.00 to save 50c

Its kinda the same with the prius, unless you hold onto one of those for atleast 5 years + and won't sell it later (cos they depreciate like buggery) it won't save you jackshit.

Here's a good idea though, if you don't mind rotating vehicles on a regular basis. Take out a small loan for the vehicle you want, keep it for a year, run it, service it, fuel cost, etc. make sure you take out the minimum possible loan commitment, eg....an 8 year loan for $10,000.00 so your fortnightly repayments are tiny....something like $70/fortnight. At the end of the year, sell the car/bike off, pay out the loan & you have just effectively rented the car/bike for a year & really only payed minimum loan repayments for a year + service + fuel costs.

I think its the best way to have a nice car/bike without holding onto a depreciating asset.

Ofcourse, shit can happen, like a crash, losing alot of value in the space of a year or giving into temptation and spending lots of money on modifications that you'll get nothing for later, but if you can resist the temptation, you'll get to have the nice car/bike & not suffer too bad financially.

Cool, i'm done ranting.

Very Happy

We want sunny days again, & being a coastal boy all my life, i need to the beach nearby again.

Whats the IT crowd like in QLD tho? Plenty of jobs?

well...even if i took a paycut of a few bux an hour, i'll still be better off due to the cost of renting in canberra.

I just looked at similiar sized units in QLD, they are all around $150/week where as i'm paying $340/week for mine. Annually the saving is like $9000 which is f*&^ing monumental, so its in my best interest mentally and financially to move
