Fearful Weekend

Undecided

Sorry to report two fatals in my local area - one on Sapphire coast drive on Friday and on Tathra road at Jellat Jellat (near Tathra) on Saturday.
From both accounts it was the driver of each car that didn't see the oncoming rider.
Bloody shame two people are dead through negligence! I was going for a ride on the Sunday but the missus said no way you - know the saying it happens in 3's.
So I took the cover off the grey&black k8, ran my hand over the seat and covered her up again. I've only done 2 thousand on her since buying her new in early January!
What a waste of lives!

Never good when you hear a cyclist is down. Much worse when it's fatal. 2 in one weekend in a fairly sparsely populated area (certainly relative to the big centres ) makes it a bit suss. Was there something on that brought extra people into the area? Great place to live, too. I lived a bit further up the coast at BB for a while. Rural roads definitely don't get the funding, though. Stay safe.
Cheers

One local from Pambula, Tom Wilson 46 or there abouts, aka fatboy on a fatboy r.i.p.The other was a 63 year old bloke - also too young to go.

A word of warning...
Myrtle mountain (Candelo to Wyndham)has been resealed and there is loose gravel from bottom to top - very scary stuff; same for Pambula to Wyndham 5 km of soft, loose asphalt after the single lane bridge. I advise riders to take real caution using these roads in the near future.

That's sad to hear, but I would never let superstition or fear stop me from riding, once you start that sort of thing it's a slippery slope to living in a tin box for the rest of your life.

Yes, bad news too often is followed by more of the same and there is sweet F/A you can do if it's the other guys fault. I suppose all we can do is make the best of what we have and hope its not our number next on the list, but in the end if I was too concerned it was me I wouldn't have a Busa, don't ever pass up a good time 'cause its the one you'll never have.
