HELMETS

A word of caution. That style of helmet is not designed for riding with the chin section up (open) as it weakens the structural integrity of the helmet in crash, even a slow speed one. Your head so your call.

Thanks for the info but all the info from Nolan and other sites shows this model is approved for chin up riding... Maybe there is other site you can suggest looking at which contradicts the Nolan site?

extract..
"The (patented) chin guard rotation movement with elliptical trajectory makes it possible to keep the total size of the helmet's front section to a minimum, when the chin guard is open. The "sail" effect is consequently highly reduced and riding comfort is still guaranteed, even when the chin guard is lifted."

"The new N104 is P/J approved, in compliance with the legislation currently in force UN/ECE 22-05 for Europe, DOT FMVSS-218 for USA. P/J approval allow the motorcyclist to ride the vehicle both with open and closed chin guard, in compliance with the current legislation in force."
