The rear mudguard was sitting on the back wheel. 15 kgs of weight in the Ventura, no pillion--lucky, never have one anyway due to all the drunks on the road. The Sub Frame Bolts directly opposite each battery terminal---Sheared all the way through !!!!
DANGEROUS MR SUZUKI---GET IT FIXED----RECALL BEFORE IT KILLS SOME MUTHA !
Replaced em with some high tensile 4WD suspension bolts cut down from an AWD center.

Replace those holy Suzuki Bolts before they kill ya. That is all.

Those two bolts look like they have been in and out more times than my little johnson

Been out once & once only---when they broke.
The pillion footpeg pins is what got me the 50 kms into the next town that night.

Talking about weak bolts..... WTF do Suzuki make the clutch spring bolts out of? There I was replacing the BTL then when it come to torque up the clutch spring (pressure plate) bolts at the recommended 23 Nm, 2 of them just snapped!
So Greeny took me down to a fastners joint and I got 6 high tensile steel bolts and washers, Greeny knew the thread measurement that saved the bloke a lot of trouble so he just gave them to me.... This time I tightened them using the pinky finger torque method of holding the ratchet with the "devil sign" when my pinkie hurts it's tight enough.
All this gets me thinking it might be wise to relpace ALL the bolts, washers and nuts with high tensile steel?

Just curious cos my ventura gets a hefty load regularly.
Plus, the missus uses it to stop from sliding off the seat.

Thats the price we pay for the fastest production bike...weight loss wherever its available. It never ceases to amaze me when the ads for new bikes claim weight reductions...esp the 600 sports machines...how much lighter can they make the bloody things??
