After having a blast around the Snowies and having a bit of a think about the desire to own more than one bike, it's time to make that a reality. The standard quiver of bikes would probably consist of about three or four varieties. Cruiser, track weapon, big bore blaster, off road.

Unfortunately, money doesn't emmanate from a busa's back end, so to achieve this little feit I've decided to use time as my friend. Instead of owning all types of bikes at once, just do as the Rocket does and trade up every year.

To that end, XOCET the silver flying fish will be no more, at least not in busa format anyway. It's time to go v-twin shopping, and a Honda VTR 1000 doesn't look too much trouble. I know I bagged the TLR a few months ago, but hey, all bikes are shit compared to a busa.

My pride is on sale for over 13 grand. I will no doubt be back when that elusive Moby Dick resurfaces. Until then it's noise making time. Oh, and actually cornering for a change...... -385-

So nutsack you have finally seen the light.
Seriously though, whatever other bike you test, you will always think, this thing is gutless compaired to the busa, but once you get your head around the power thing,or lack of it,there a plenty of other good bikes out there that offer different things other than power.Anyway lets face it,the busa probably has too much power for the road anyway.
I see you mentioned a VTR,im just wondering why?I thought you might go for one of the later race bred thous or do you want another sports/tourer?Anyway good luck with your search, there is a lot of good bike out there.

I Have a well sorted vfr for sale if you like handling, sound and comfort?

Max

The Honda is a poof bike Nutsack, light as a mouse, severely lacking power but it "handles", just like bloody BMWs do . I'd love to add something to your statement about the Bus having too much power for the road, things like "limp wrists" and "Character" and and and. The TLR probably has a little too much power and too little handling. Stay in touch, after the operation to remove the Bus from your bloodstream, and give us an idea of where to find you and your "handling" ride!

"too much power for the road"

CRAP!!!
The only bike I took for a test ride when looking to trade up from my Yammy FZR250R was a Honda Super Blackbird. I was not very impressed with its acceleration. It was just like the 250 but bigger. You had to knock it back 3 cogs to get moving. The sales guy said if you want that kind of pick-up from 100 in top gear there's only one bike for you.
So I bought the Hayabusa. Wazza.

I've stared death in the face....he turned and walked away.

So you redline it everywhere on the road ,do you Wazza?

Wat the thats like trading from Denise Richards to some anorexic skanky super model who isnt as good looking, has smaller boobs and doesnt have as much money. y not buy a buell or hardley sporty or maybe a dyna glide its like trading down from a busa to a transalp.
have you got yours i know i do

p.s i appologise if i offended anyone it was a harmless dig at people who ride bikes of a substandard par to that of the almighty BUSA. it wasnt inteded to be serious in anyway more just a friendly poking fun cause they ride silly little bikes
peace out everyone im going for a peice of my favourite Edited by: DAN85 at: 25/7/06 6:21 pm

The VTR 1000 was just coz it was a v-twin, and it comes with Honda reliability (ie. set and forget). I think as second hand bikes go, the Honda comes with no problems. Other manufacturers seems to always come with their helping of cheesecake when second hand.

I have also been looking at the new 999s. My goodness that thing is awesome. But I'll wait til I'm GDYUPs age and a cafe racer. Too much bling is not good for anyone and those Ducati's are waaaaayyyyyyyy espensive. Still, saw a Senna 916 up for grabs for under 20 grand. 100 RWHP? WTFWT? My CBR 600 had that!

Oh, and it's gotta be yellow!

I think I'll get a new busa in about two years time, when the new model comes out and all the re-calls have been done. Either that, or I'll get the Honda V5.

Want a photo? Mine is second one in after the red and black on the Jindy 2005 emoticon....
