Posted by: Les Ross - 02-08-2000, 11:52pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

I have asked this question of a couple of Members, but they have had no probs so time to ask the rest.
Has anyone had any clutch grab, slip when letting out the clutch over 2000rpm ?
It dosent happen all the time only some times I am lead to believe it starts to play up around the 6000klm mark and thats when mine started.

 stalling & cutting out
Posted by: Glen - 01-08-2000, 09:40pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

My Busa has just started stalling when I stop really quickly(yes I did pull the clutch in)& cutting out momentarily when I open the throttle right up.
I've seen some comments about fuel pump recalls which mine hasn't had done.Could this be the problem?
I'd really appreciate any help,thanks.

has anyone removed one of those stick-on tree like tank protectors - and how ??

for whatever reason the one fitted when i bought my bike has shrunk exposing the glue backing and is now fraying around the edges, looks very unsightly,,

i am looking at all options prior to replacing it,

any suggestions????

 Brakes
Posted by: demeester - 01-08-2000, 10:02am - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

OK Les, you had a good point with brakes.

Before I put in my thoughts here, just note that it is productive if you want to talk about something different, let's start it in a new topic, so that we can keep "brakes" discussion apart from "user levels" and "tshirts".

I had to replace my rear pads at 6000 k's, and like you, thought my riding style was flawed. Since then, I have been conscious to see if I am riding the brakes, and I don't. I think I just place more reliance on the rear. I spoke to a few people "in the know" and was told to not alter my riding style (no point having an accident trying to save the brake pads ) but to just be aware that I might go through pads quicker than others, and accept that I will have to fork out a bit more frequently than others.

Ultimately, it is just getting used to a heavier bike, I suppose (I have not had a bike this big before )!

Front, on the other hand, has heaps of pad on it, and I reckon I use my front brakes fairly heavily - You figure it!
