Hey going off the color it's a 02, but the 01 and 02 are the same bike so shouldn't matter:)

RE: 2001busa ,info - yella - 29-12-2012

YEARS - HAYABUSA PART
1999-2000 304-411
2001 320-411
2002-2006 312-411
2008 339-411

Different part numbers for 1999-2000, 2001 and 2002-2006.

99-2000 has the same harness as well as ecu. if you wanted to upgrade the ecu to a 32bit 02-07 you can do that with factory 99/2000 harness by changing the rotor and ecu. the harness can be re-pinned and a sensor rewired.
2001-07 is the same harness but 01 has a different ecu.

Random info for ya Pete

RE: 2001busa ,info - Maj - 29-12-2012

whats the ecu number off Petes bike
yr models and actuall yr of build overlap some
a late 01 could be 02 model with the later ecu

Do you know which sensor needs to be rewired?

RE: 2001busa ,info - Maj - 30-12-2012

some talk about reversing the crank sender polarity
i have not changed a 99-00 , and not had the need, the 01 does not need changing and i am not sure the 99 does either
black sender wire is positive and i think its the green and white on the harness side is also positive

RE: 2001busa ,info - yella - 30-12-2012

I had read the same with the crank sender it was factory swapped on the 01 . I have not done this conversion yet but getting info together as Im sure it will happen at some stage.

99-00 models - swap ECU pins 36 & 43, 56 & 33, and 60 & 53
Install 02-07 rotor
Install 02-07 ECU

'01 model
Install 02-07 rotor
Install 02-07 ECU
(no pin swapping necessary)

RE: 2001busa ,info - -M- - 31-12-2012

You could remove the stator cover and check the flywheel rotor.

16bit resembles this.

32bit resembles this.

RE: 2001busa ,info - Maj - 31-12-2012

24-FLO is 32 bit
Its an 02 model ecu and bike too i suppose ;)
