mmm, ive always had faith in a good gen1 suitably sorted would woop a gen2 for alot less than changeover.Seems i,m not the only believer, besides ever since drag racing began people have savioured the victory of beating the latest and greatest with well sorted superceded vehicles.I know it cuts deep, steve rieman handed my arse to me once on a $5000 gsx1100 a few years back.

Can I suggest that you drain the oil from your engine, make sure you get the dregs, send to Castrol and ask for an oil analysis.

Explain that you have a bottom end noise, knock and wish to see if their is any metal in the oil.

Dan85 Wrote:guy in townsville had a k6 with with a similiar problem by the sounds of it. the dealership in conjuction with suzuki australia gave him a new bike as it happened while the bike was only very new. dont want to alarm you. sounds similiar tho. it turned out to be the problem you alluded to. so maybe its time for a 1441cc engine kit:p

That's a good idea Dan85. At least he'll find out if his bearings are stuffed. The 1580cc stroker is in progress, the only thing slowing me is the $$s. Just hope the Bankruptcy prooceedings I have commenced against the DWD pay off. If they don't, will be partial satisfaction.
