Thanks Rod and Greeny, yeah going to book for a river cruise tomorrow. After 2 bottles of Tasmanian wine and 2 glasses of port it sounds great! If anyone knows how the rd Is for a GS BMW to travel down the dirt from arthour river to Straun pls let me know and how much fuel we need? Much appreciated. Chris

If your down the west coast of tassie suggest you do ride over the reece damturn of is about a 1.5kays north of Tullah and it brings you back into Zeehan, fantastic bit of road as did it last year and basically cooked the tyre on the busa by the time we got to Zeehan.

When I was there in 08, I was in my 4x4 heading to Cradle Mountain for a look around, 2 GENI Busa's flew past me Full Noise and Pretty well Fully Commited.......F$@#ING WICKED!!

Next time I go, Im taking mine, some wild roads down there!!

if your on a GS1200, try the Balfour Track, but moreso try the Montezuma Falls Track along with the Ring Road Track (I think), near Roseberry.
We did it during 48 hours of non stop pouring rain, Fantastic Rainforests (no gps signal as the tree Canopy was too thick), Water everywhere, got Horribly Horribly Bogged, Had to Hand Winch my Buddie up Hills because his 4x4 couldnt make it up the Clay/Rubble/Water Ridden Hills, I went from being Fully soaked to stripping off down to my Shorts, Steam Comming off of me everywhere, sweating like a pig in the middle of the pouring Rain whilst I was Hand Wincking my Buddie up Hills etc.

If you like Adventure, Tassie has plenty!!!

PS: Roseberry is just East of Zeeahan, its a Mining Town by memory, a good Pub with Good meals!!
Also, you should try the Montezuma Falls Walk, well worth it, (all the above apart from the Balfour track are between Zeehan and Rosebury)

Thanks all for your suggestions, did the Gordon river cruise, sure was spectacular! So many rds we missed out on! Met up with another couple who did 16 days on a bike. That's sounds better. Oh well, back to reality and work
