I have just gone to the dark side and bought a Harley(stiil have the twisted angel) does that mean when I go for a spin with patch owner mates that I will be class'd as an outlaw too?

I would love to know where you got those facts from... couldn't find them in any statistical source.

I do know that it's thought that in the 1960's the American Motorrider Association stated 99% of rider are law abiding people which then groups like the Hells Angels came back with they are the other 1%. This led to bikers being known as 1 percenters....

In Qld, yes you would absolutely. You are an associate, regardless of whether you ride a Hardley or not.
