They do look and sound better without the muffler. Here is mine 7 years ago at the Perth Motorplex with a few minor mods.

all good bruce dont worry bout the thread hijack its good this gives me more ideas , as this is the only part of the bike im haveing trouble with and its a bugger as well as there is so many cool ideas here to chose from , and as i have stated before bruce your bike was the insperation for me to modifiy my busa

Something for you to consider KevtheRev, have your doubles cut down to half their original size! The sound will be awesome while satisfying your aesthetic senses.
