brake pad selections
#1
guys im doing the front end on my 04 and the OEM pads are ready to be replaced , so im calling on AHC members for some opinions on brake pads choices , '

cheers guys :)

I bought a set of Galfer pads from BGW. When the guys at SCM Kogarah tried to fit them they kept grabbing, so I ended up with the stock pads back on there. :(
I know a lot of people recommend HH sintered pads; maybe try them?
"casting dispersions on others credability." And their illiteracy.

ta mate . yeah im looking a few few but as usual cant make my mind up .

I,ve used the EBC HH sintered pads and can recommend them.I have heard the Ferodo pads are good too. While you are there,(if you havn't already done so) fit a set of braided brake lines, they are well worth it!
#5
i have a set of HEL braided lines for the front so i have that part sorted .

Probably a bit late for you Kev, but I have used EBC, Ferodo and Bendix pads on the front of my Gen 1 busa. Of the 3 I found the Bendix to give the best stopping power but not the longest life.

i havent made a choice as yet as im doing more research . but what brand gave you value for money mate ??

They were all good Kev, I think the Bendix may have been the cheapest at the time but worked best and lasted the shortest but in saying that they still did around 30,000ks. So when it comes time for new ones, I might go there again.
Sometimes you just have to get what is available at the time unless you buy a set on spec.

+1. Add braided lines & I'm sure you'll be impressed. I've gotten 10,000km out of them, (the pads) so far

ive got HEL lines, best pads and still a crappy spongy brake system, reckon its them kokico calipers and master cylinder and theyve been overhauled to. busa1 always lacked great braking. im sure a Brembo wud make all the diff but the $$$$

You may still have air in the line Volvi
try rebleeding then lock your brake lever on with a cable tie over night
this will force the air to the top.

Ive had goodridge Race pads & braided lines on all my bikes never had an issue with them ( stock pads suck)

What HEL brake line kit did you purchase Volvi. Is it the standard "over the mudguard" kit ?
