Got 28kg off mine, and just a little more power and tourque than those busa thingos ;-)
OK, thanks to ALL... interesting comment Re; V MAX. I thought I liked it at first, but apart from the engine it's to me quite forgettable...eg riding position when going fast. fuel range and going in the twisties with all that WEIGHT/WAIT...also pipes look very fussy and daft...
To me, the Hayabusa has it all except come with a personal assistant, carbon copy of Halle Berry.
RE; 200RWHP, I am almost CERTAIN that what's there is plenty enough for me...as I'm not going drag racing with it or trying to break a speed record. So it comes down to a little bit of STYLE and loss of weight plus freeing the left side for chain maintenance. I Can't see a better deal out there than the Akra 4-1 full system right now...(Like AXE's)
However, I'll wait till the AUD climbs out of the toilet and back to around .93+USD

The vmax handles better than my old busa now that it is sorted. However you are right about the seating position at speed for any length of time, but there are very few places in Vic where you can get away with it now anyway. And I would like to keep my licence for a while yet.
So until you meet the first Vmax at the strip or the lights, here is a little something to prepare you for the outcome

OK, I can understand the Vmax worship out there, but if I thought it was better than the Hayabusa, I would have bought it. Not convinced by proper evidence, ie official time trials, that the Hayabusa is inferior either, but sure, go ahead... make a case for your vmax.
At one stage, I even thought of owning it, (cheque book ready too!) as well as the Rocket III as well as the Hayabusa altogether in my BIG garage. Finally decided they were tedious by comparison and not very attractive (pipes and radiators)...just my preference and no offence if anyone else likes them. I opted to go for a trip OS every year instead.
Actually, the Rocket made sense if I wanted to roll up to a Rock Concert once in a while.
The thing about the Hayabusa is that it does everything very very well, more so than the others in my opinion. However, whatever you ride, be it a vmax or a Postie, if you love it that's all that matters. I know I don't have to prove a thing at the lights against a vmax...I put a couple in my rear vision mirror on my M109 earlier this year! See, it's not about the machine, it's the person who operates it!

200mph.... no, you can keep that one. Even with the 'top speed fix' installed, max speed is about 265/270kph. The Busa will walk away somwhere around 180/190kph due to the max's 5 speed box and the inability to change ratios with the shaft drive. But it does come with the advantage of no chain maintenance and no chain lube on the wheel or rear, which I like. Also by that stage the police will have already warmed up the car crusher for us both!
FalcoPerigri,
You are right on all counts. Couldn't agree more. I also agree with the look of the pipes. Never really liked those things. Also modified the position with flatter bars, better grips, mirrors etc.
I also understand that folk will want to defend their beloved Busa here (being the Busa site and all) and rightfully so! So I will post a pic and then my tread highjack will be complete.
Please feel free to return to normal programing.

Thank you for a courteous reply and good luck/riding with your vmax. I will say this and that is, the vmax is a purposeful and very skillfully designed and very powerful machine. By the same token, it just might be "overly" designed and thus not allow people to modify it as much as they would like (such as gearing, aero-dynamics, looks & touring fuel-range and so on...). The design is 1/4 mile SPECIFIC, and there can be a whole world of FUN there between traffic lights too!

167mph i think it was on the V Max that was sharing out pits at Bonneville this year , and could have claimed a record except that meant capacity checking , pulling the motor to do so... one of the guys crewing for it worked at a dealer and even he did not yet have the specific tools needed and none of us wanted to spend a day or so figuring out how to do it without marking the new bike ..
Very nice bike but i still went faster on a 750 ;)

167mph = 268.7kph sounds right to me. You might get another 5-10 klms out of the electronic mods (and it will pull muuuuch harder in 4th and 5th) but that is about its limit.
Hope to catch up with you in Heathcote next month. I could do with some pointers on my launch

Max had the black box installed to over come limiters, i think it was running 150 ish before that, have to ring Ev and ask again, was pretty involved in myown stuff to take too much notice what others were doing

Some cant admit that there are equal or better bikes out there, some even quote bullshit numbers
