Petition to ban wire rope barriers

Wire rope barriers (cheese cutters) as we know can be fatal, the government try to cut costs installing them but the only thing they're cutting is motorcyclists!

Wonder if there is a petition to install bottom shrouds on Armco railings. Absolute joke it hasn't been done on all of them. So many bikers have been killed by these.

They don't really concern me anymore then any other object that if I crash at speed and hit does.
After having a bit of a read through the Monash University report on barriers I found this:

[b][b]In addition, the Baltic Construction Company in Sweden has developed a device that
covers the upper and lower wire rope systems of standard WRSBs. The device consists of
aluminium profiles that can be fitted to existing systems. The device has been subject to
computer simulations using a motorcycle, a car and a lorry with favourable indications.

Something like this could be a good option.

Also done, a motorcyclist was killed by a cheesecutter in Canberra last year after hitting a kangaroo then hitting the cheesecutter.
