Don't forget the post I stuck up a while back on John O'haras runs over here. Stock motor, plus pipe and PCiii, but no air shifter or length. He's no lightweight either (85kg or so). Can't recall but close to mid 9sec, and repeated a few times. BUT, another half a second??? I doubt it unless you are a 50kg jockey. Mike McDonalds bike in the readers bike section of Aug RAPID has run a 9.4. But he weighs 60Kg and his bike is probably nearly another 60Kg lighter than a Busa.
Stock Busas running 150 to 160 mph over the 1/4 sounds very high too. Most seem to hit the mid 140s at the most.
Maybe I'm a bit a of a slacker in that I struggle to bust 10s, but each 10th of a sec takes a heap more power the quicker you go. I mean it might take a few Tyres would be a limit as well getting under 8 wouldn't they?

The only thing stock was the engine size (1299) and the lenght is what I refered to.

Of course a stock motored Busa would be pretty much impossible to run 8'sIdiot2

I only manage around 140 mph (139mainly) and still manage 9.7.

Tyres would play a big part also, I've managed 8.8 on a pirrelli Super Corsa take off, but not every pass on the gold turbo busa.

I've spoken to Joe Marosco (crate to 8's) and he did say with more time and testing they would have run the 8 without the nos.

A valid and overlooked point, lower ET and lower trap speed = skill.
Same ET and high trap speeds shows that the cheque books' had a work out.

9.5 would be possible stock length without pulling the rocker cover off.I just ran a 9.68 with a 1.68 60ft @145mph.Put leonards 1.59 60ft on that run and you have a mid 9.5 sec run.bike 230kg bike and rider 325kg.put a 60kg suited rider with talent (terry) and perhaps 9.2-9.3 would be possible.Cams compression headwork stock bore and another years practice and maybe then a light talented rider might see an eight.I,ve engineered my bike to be fast,i just need the practice to utilise its potential.

No prob's Glenn, but it has to be more than just one run! how about we swap bikes for the whole meet?

It will have to be after the East Coast Nationals thou, as I'm busy getting the bikes ready for Sport compact and the ECN. Got a 7.58 to better don't you know!!!!
