Cleaning tips

Well PLEXUS hasn't been mentioned so i'll throw that in the mix.
I normally wash first, dry , then some bits get the mr sheen treatment and the bodywork gets the plexus .
Kero for chain .

I use this stuff called FW1 - its a combo cleaner with carnauba wax and it is absolutely awesome for cleaning your wheels. Forget kero, petrol etc..., just spray some of this on and wipe it off, leaving a nice shiney wheel! I always hated this part of m/cycle maintainence but this stuff is great and the wax keeps them cleaner longer. You can use it on the rest of the bike too and no water needed if its not too dirty - spray on, wait 10 seconds and buff off. They sell it via demos in petrol stations and supermarket car parks etc...they did my bros wheels and he came home with 2 cans. And no, I have nothing to do with the product.

When I got the Busa a mate of mine gave me a selection of Meguires motorcycle products as a christening present. So now I am a Meguires whore - ez clean spray & rinse, soft wash gel, deep crystal wet look cleaner wax, plastic cleaner / polish, detailer mist & wipe. I think I have a better collection of products, applicators & cloths than some auto stores Lol3
Meguires does a great job but I don't assume it to better than other products. The majority of the nice bikes I see out & about all sparkle & shine just the same.
I still use dirty old smelly Kero on the chain & to get the lube off the rear wheel - can't get away from that unfortunately.

As for my tips - always remove chain lube & any other greasy crap to prevent mircrofiber or terry towel cloths from being ruined. Front & rear stands make the job easier & give better access (a bike lift would be ideal). Take your time & do a good job, but don't look too hard - finding another stone chip is bound to piss you off.

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Ok here is a trade secret that most bike shops use. Get Dynamo 1.25 and mix it with degreaser 500ml brush on or spray all the bike. Will clean every part of the bike even your chain i use this on all my customers bikes and started using this in the 80s when i was at brian Collons Motorcycels as a kid. This is by far the best. Your bike will look new. I even use it when doing motor rebuilds to clean all the parts then blow dry off. Just give the bike a good waxing after if you like but if you have good paint there is no need to do so.

As in Dynamo washing machine liquid?? Interesting! Do you mix it with concentrate degreaser or pre mixed stuff?

Can I suggest that metal polish on chrome with craz it with fine swirls Busgo! Better of using nothing but mr Sheen on chrome - it gets about anything off withoput being an abrasive - and promotes beading of water. Look after your chrome! it costs too much to replace!

Cheers
