Weather looks like it'll be up around 31 by Tuesday... looking better!
Jeez, all I see is 24 and chance of showers all over the place :-)
Monday weather via route
low to mid 20's with a chance of afternoon showers....

expecting to not get wet but a little bit cool going through mountains LOL

Tuesday weather via route
mid 20's with small chance of afternoon shower up over Lake Leake

again not expecting to get wet...................
I just got my new front tyre fitted, and went for a quick ride through the hills to scrub it in.
It has the biggest chicken strips I've ever had. Must be the different profile as the BT016 Bridgestones were scrubbed to the edge, or almost. These Dunlop Roadsmart III's still have a good inch on either side.
Whilst at the bike shop, I checked out the wet weather coveralls and found the ones they had cost $110.
I'm still tossing up whether to buy some or run the gauntlet with the weather gods....
Maybe if it's really wet the bike shop gods will do really well :)
That's a good point.
I suppose Tassie has motorcycle shops too........lol.
only for 1937 Enfields mate... but I can buy a can os spray on waterproofer... just close your eyes LOL
Lucksafortune $110 is cheap insurance.its not a case of if you need them ,but more like you really want them, the last trip there six out seven days dry . 2/3 of the wet day wasn't to bad but the last 1/3 was just a mother #%*%er
Tony,
In your opinion, if I was to intend to buy wets in Tassie if/when they were needed, do you think it would be easy enough, as in are there quite a few places to get them, or would it be a pain in the ass.
The reason for asking is that I never normally ride in the wet, so I can't see them ever getting used again and don't want to waste my money...
I know a few stores in Launceston that sell them and there would be a few in Hobart too...

so worse case is do a short cut on day 1 and get to Launceston by 4pm (my first choice is Brett owner of Suzuki dealer @ Cycleworld)

Then it would be day 3 when next near decent bike shops... again take a short cut into Hobart (I am not sure of stores or names or locations)
I will start sending out weather updates for you all LOL

big sissy girls hahahahahaaa
I've been watching the weather closely, and it looks ok but I don't want to put the mockers on it.
My leathers keep me dry in showers, but I've never ridden in heavy rain. I tend to seek shelter.
I'm down about 5 hours sleep per night now, like an excited child...lol
I bought wet weather gear must be about 10 years ago from Aldi and its still new and crisp, have never used them but always take them with me on long trips. I was caught out once in Tassy years ago and it fukin bucketed down and I was just in leathers. Can you imagine how awful it was and for the leathers to take 2 days to dry out. Lesson learned. Always but always have wet weather gear on the ready, its a must for any trip longer then 2 days. I may not have used them but I wont be caught out again and would be happy to return again without having used them at all. But a must have.
I just saw a 2 piece set of coveralls, just thin ones with adjustable cuffs.
The type to go over normal riding gear.
$80.......
Mmmmm, You make a very valid point Volvi.
I bought the $110 full piece suit for my last Tathra run..

fold webbing at bottom of 1 leg ripped putting them on

still got saturated riding back to boat with it on but it did stop the wind chill factor. feet might have been swimming, belly drenched and you could flip a coin between what was wetter, the sweat in my armpits or the rain on my forearms, BUT I wasn't cold form being wet and riding
